You don’t have to be brave to raise funds for charity – but it helps
Mark Arjoo, the president of The Rotary Club of Ashby-De-La-Zouch Castle undertook the challenge of the Great North Swim on June 10th 2023. This involved wild swimming on Lake Windermere. Wow! Not only that, but he decided to raise funds for Empowering Kids in Kenya from this challenge.
Could you raise funds for education for the poor kids in Bombolulu through a sponsored challenge?
We can’t thank Mark enough for his brilliant fundraising and the kids in Bombolulu were astonished that someone would do this for them. Windermere can be cold and choppy, even in the summer, so it’s not for the faint-hearted. This event raised £1,500 for the school. Simply amazing!
There are lots of different ways to raise funds for charity.
One of our very generous sponsors, Dave Morton, was planning to take part in a sponsored canoe event that had to be cancelled in the Covid lockdown. So Dave just did a virtual challenge and raised a super £750.00.
Sally, our trustee chairperson, and her business coach, Alan Brighton, both took on weight loss challenges in 2023. They won’t raise a fortune, but every little does help. And it gives them the motivation to lose weight.
What could you do to help some of the poorest kids in Kenya get the start in life that education can provide?
